Fed up with the rain?

October was the wettest month of the year so far and everyone in this area of Scotland seem to be fed up with all the rain.

But things are changing and the climate, as we are so often told is becoming more unpredictable; So lets get used to it, live with it, see each new force the weather throws at us as a challenge, not just something to moan about. Embrace life and this wonderful area we live in; look around, there are always people worse of.

End of sermon......

Down Time

Anyone notice our down time?

The station went down late on the 15th during bad weather and as at this time we were enjoying wonderful weather and hospitality in the far north of Scotland (near loch Tongue) the station stayed down till our return.

Sorry and all that, but breaks have to be taken and I'm sure that if the Davis software was more reliable then it would not be a problem!

Am thinking of changing software over the next winter anyway, any sugestions?

Back to Winter

Can't help but notice how cold it is after last week:

Well we think this weather is going to be around for the next week, dominated by the North.

Today we saw fresh SNOW on the hills at Braemar (so keep the skies out....) and I don't think we have seen the end, (more to follow over the weekend).

It's all down to that cold sun you ken, we need to stoke it up a bit......

Maybe next year!

Or are we in trouble?

Who knows.................................

Fantastic Week: Now look out!

What a fantastic week it has been, clear skies, summer sun, but cold easterly winds, now what?

looks like the change is on the way, Friday will start fine but increasing cloud will bring rain and wind by late afternoon through to Saturday with unsettled weather to follow.

Summer must be on the way!

Some sure signs we noted today at Ballogie Weather:-

The Swallows are back looking for their nesting spots, looks like only two pair at the moment.

The first runner bean has shown it's head above ground,

Only 4.5 Inches of nuts have been devoured this week from the bird feeder.

The grass is greener (now lets not get silly) and what a great show of Daffs this year.

---------------

Now; will we get the weather?

I recon:- Better Summer than last year although still a bit showery leading to a colder Winter.

See how that pans out.......................................

Broadband down.

Just found out that broadband is out in my area possibly for the next four hours.

We lost contact just before nine this morning.

BT are working on the problem!
